Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 June 2026
Effective date: 1 June 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service («Terms») form a binding agreement between Data Clarity Limited («we,» «us,» «our») and the individual or organization («you,» «your,» «User») that installs or uses Tableau AI Assistant (the «Extension»).

By installing, accessing, or using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.

If you are using the Extension on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Our Privacy Policy, available at https://vizuators.com/tableau-ai-assistant/privacy, explains how we handle data and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Description of the service

The Extension is a Tableau dashboard extension that enables conversational queries against Tableau data sources by routing requests through:

  • Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud (operated by your organization), accessed via the Personal Access Token (PAT) you provide; and
  • A third-party Large Language Model provider — currently Anthropic Claude or Deepseek — accessed via the API credentials you provide.
We provide the routing, integration, and user interface. We do not provide the underlying Tableau infrastructure or the LLM service.

3. Your account and credentials

3.1 Credentials you supply

The Extension functions only after you provide:

  • A valid Tableau Personal Access Token with appropriate read access; and
  • A valid API key for a supported LLM provider.
You are responsible for obtaining, securing, rotating, and revoking these credentials. You are responsible for any usage, charges, or actions performed through credentials you supply.

3.2 Credential storage

Credentials are stored in the local storage of your browser and transmitted only as needed to execute requests. Credentials are processed in-memory only and are not persisted on any systems. See our Privacy Policy for details.

3.3 Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur using them. Notify us promptly at info@vizuators.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Extension only for lawful purposes and in compliance with your organization's policies. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Use the Extension to access data you are not authorized to access in Tableau;
  • Use the Extension to violate any applicable laws, including data protection and export-control laws;
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Extension, except where such restriction is prohibited by law;
  • Use the Extension to generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that infringes third-party rights;
  • Use the Extension in connection with the development of any competing product;
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or overload our infrastructure;
  • Use automated means to access the Extension beyond normal interactive use without our prior written consent.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these terms are being violated.

5. Third-party services

The Extension depends on services we do not control:

  • Tableau Server / Tableau Cloud. Operated by your organization or by Salesforce. Your use of Tableau is governed by your existing agreements with Salesforce and your organization.
  • LLM providers (Anthropic, Deepseek). Operated by the respective providers. Your use is governed by the agreements between you and those providers, including their terms of service, privacy policies, acceptable use policies, and pricing.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, or actions of these third parties. Charges incurred with your LLM provider through your use of the Extension are your responsibility.

6. AI-generated content

6.1 Nature of AI responses

Responses generated by the Extension are produced by third-party language models based on your questions and data returned from Tableau. These responses are:
  • Probabilistic, not deterministic. The same question may produce different responses on different occasions.
  • Subject to error. Language models can misinterpret questions, misapply context, or produce outputs that appear correct but are not.
  • Not professional advice. Responses are not legal, financial, medical, tax, or other professional advice and must not be relied upon as such.

6.2 Your responsibility for verification

You are responsible for verifying any AI-generated response before acting on it. The Extension provides Events mode to support verification: it exposes the exact query executed, the data returned by Tableau, and the prompt and response involved. We recommend using Events mode for any high-stakes decision.

6.3 No warranty of accuracy

We do not warrant that AI-generated responses are accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. Decisions made based on AI-generated content are made at your own risk.

7. Intellectual property

7.1 Our intellectual property

The Extension, including its code, design, documentation, and trademarks, is the property of Data Clarity Limited and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Extension as intended, for the duration these Terms are in effect.

7.2 Your data

You retain all rights to your data, including the questions you submit and the results returned from Tableau. We claim no ownership of your data and do not use it to train any models.

7.3 Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or feature requests, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them without obligation to you.

8. Disclaimers

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE EXTENSION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY OUTPUTS PRODUCED BY THE EXTENSION OR BY THIRD-PARTY LLM PROVIDERS.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES; IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
  • WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE EXTENSION.
  • OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD 100).
  • THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
  • Your use of the Extension in violation of these Terms;
  • Your use of credentials or data you were not authorized to use;
  • Content you submit to or generate through the Extension that violates third-party rights or applicable law.

11. Suspension and termination

11.1 Termination by you

You may stop using the Extension at any time by removing it from your Tableau dashboards and revoking the credentials you provided.

11.2 Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate access at any time if we reasonably believe these Terms are being violated, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Extension. Where reasonable, we will provide prior notice.

11.3 Effect of termination

Upon termination, the license granted under Section 7.1 ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 14 — will survive.

12. Changes to the service or these Terms

We may modify the Extension at any time, including by adding, removing, or changing features. We may also modify these Terms; material changes will be announced through the Extension's release notes and on our website. Continued use of the Extension after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance.

13. Confidentiality

Each party will treat as confidential any non-public information disclosed by the other in connection with the Extension. This obligation does not apply to information that is publicly available, independently developed, or required to be disclosed by law.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Hong Kong, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
If you are an EU consumer, this clause does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law of your country of residence.

15. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Extension.
  • Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
  • No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Notices. Notices to us should be sent to info@vizuators.com. Notices to you may be sent through the Extension, by email, or posted on our website.
