Loupe inherits Tableau's RLS and access controls through your Personal Access Token (PAT). Users only see what they're already authorized to see. Nothing is bypassed.

No. Loupe processes data in-memory only. Nothing is persisted on our infrastructure.

Yes. You bring your own LLM key or connect to models running in your local environment.

Loupe routes requests through your Tableau Server / Cloud using your PAT, processes data in-memory, and sends only aggregated data to your chosen LLM provider.

Yes. Loupe is designed to work with Tableau Server on‑prem and supports deployment in air‑gapped environments.
For organizations that require fully isolated infrastructure, Loupe can be connected to a locally hosted LLM (e.g., via Tableau LangChain or Tableau MCP self‑hosted). This allows you to keep all data and AI processing within your own network — no external API calls, no data leaving your environment.
